Froggie Magoo

Froggie Magoo:

Welcome to my world.

The title of this weeks encouragement is a term of endearment.

It’s a description that shows affection.

It’s made even more attractive and lovable by the fact that it’s one of many names that Rachel has dubbed me.

And it’s one I’ve become quite fond of.

But, you may well wonder what’s the connection with the amphibian and the visually impaired cartoon character.

There is none!

All the same, Magoo, an affluent character – a shorter than average person who retired from active work, seemed to get into a series of laughable situations.

Yet through an unknown and unpredictable phenomenon, the situations always led to a favourable outcome.

And really, that’s about it.

So, what’s new Mr Magoo?

Well, this is my point for this week:

Terms of endearment are one thing.

However, taunting someone, speaking contemptuously toward them, or calling them “Loser” or “Fool” or “Scum” or “Idiot” or “Waste-of-space” or “Stupid,” is another!

Still, some, if not all of these names are repeated too often today.

Far too often!

It’s unnecessary and unwarranted!

And it saddens me to hear.

Now, let us be clear about this.

Sticks and stones will hurt our bones, but the simple moral fact is, words spoken with a lack of attention and due care – can destroy somebody!

So, let’s not shoot off our mouths, or speak before we think.

Listen up!

We mustn’t let even one rotten word seep from our lips.

No! Not one!

Rather, let us offer only fresh words that build others up when they need it most.

That way our good words will communicate grace to those who hear them.

But if, for some reason, you’ve been on the receiving end of such disparaging words, don’t let them define you!

And don’t let anyone belittle you either.

Instead, wake up, wake up!

Pull on your boots!

Dress up in your Sunday best!

Brush off any dust and get to your feet!

Set the standard for how to talk, act, love, and be faithful and pure.

Come, rise!

I say it again!

Don’t live in the trash!

Get up!

Rub the sleep from your eyes!

Up on your feet, friend!

And get moving again!

Say yeah!
