Go Paint A Door

Go Paint A Door:

Gidday mate,

The maintenance of any property could be quite time consuming, involving hard labour, not forgetting the expense!

Many readers may remember the work we’ve recently had done in our garden.

Other projects are in the pipe-line, and will be tackled as and when time, manpower and money make it possible.

One such task is the painting of our porch door.

It’s a wooden arched door, and was last painted five years ago, so, it’s in desperate need of a fresh coat of white paint.

One of our friends who we love sharing life with, is gonna tackle the job next week.

We’re so thankful for good friends.

But, you know, next week Jesus could return.

So why bother with painting the door anyhow?

Why bother doing anything?

Then again, Jesus may not return for another week, month, year, decade or two.

We simply don’t know.

No man knows.

Does this mean we should neglect any maintenance on our property?

Does this give us a license to take a snooze?

Far from it!

Listen up:

We should live expecting Jesus to return anytime now, but in the same instance, live responsibly – realising that Jesus may not return for an age.

We mustn’t allow our interest in end time stuff to deviate us from making an effort to reach a goal.

Don’t be flummoxed by things that aren’t in accordance with the fact, reality, or actuality.

So, what are we gonna do about it?

Hang around until Jesus comes?

Nah, we’re gonna get that weather-beaten door painted.

Freshened up to as it should be.

In good working order

Made fit for purpose.

And, during the intervening time, we’re gonna stay open-eyed, wide-eyed.

We’re gonna plug away.

And we’re gonna learn to live life the Father’s way.

Believing that He knows.

Sure, we’re gonna be joyously upbeat.

Top-notch and, ticketyboo!

Now, dear friend, whatever needs doing, do it.

Go paint a door!!

Say, yes.
