Friday 6 September 1991, was quite an eventful day in my life and one I will never forget. The day was just a few months since I had a kidney & pancreas transplant, but then I developed septicaemia.
Doctors who gave me a 9% chance of survival; believed at the most, I only had 3 days to live.

However, God certainly had other things in mind. Due to the many prayers of family & friends; we saw a breakthrough, as God’s power & grace was made known. On the third day I was transferred from the intensive care unit to the transplant ward and four days later, I was discharged from hospital and returned home. Praise God!

Very recently I heard a quote; believed to be inspired by Joyce Myer:- When we are down to nothing, God is up to something!

Right now, I can write this reflection with confidence & wholeheartedness, as I share with you today the importance of appreciating life.

Life at times may be full of ups & downs, indeed life may be tough. All the same, no matter what – God knows!

Indeed His Word declares; “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

So dear friend, be encouraged today; no matter what your circumstance, even when all hope seems lost, hold in there and believe that God is accomplishing His purpose.

Whatever the set of facts or circumstances that surround your situation or event, always remember, when you are down to nothing, God is up to something!

Words from Jeremiah 29: New Living Translation.
