Motivating Encouragement:
In a previous reflection I shared with you some words by Leo Buscaglia:
“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”
In this short reflection; I want to re-emphasize the importance of comforting one another, the necessity to encourage – especially in our words – let us be an encouragement to one another.
For so often harsh and negative words can kill and destroy!
Alternatively, make the most of every opportunity.
Be gracious in your speech.
The goal is to bring out the best in others in a conversation, not put them down, not cut them out!
Often criticism can pull someone down instead of building someone up.
Let us rather begin to focus on the positive and talk in a way that builds up and gives encouragement.
As the introductory words to this reflection indicate – a kind word, an honest compliment can have the potential to turn a life around.
Be an encourager today and you will be surprised as to what you will reap – for in encouraging others you encourage yourself.
